Welcome to Photo 43: Digital Photography at LBCC. This course is designed to train you in the use of digital media. I'd like to clarify that this class is designed primarily for "post-production" work - after the shoot is where we'll be spending the majority of our energy. It is strongly recommended that you already have successfully completed a beginning photography course (Photo 31, 32 or Art 81) and that you're comfortable working in a digital environment (Art 41).
We will be working from a Digital Workbook, which I have designed as the companion piece to the course. All of your lectures, exercises and assignments are in the book and it's been designed so that each page has an opposing blank page for notes that way, at the end of the class, you'll have all your notes and lecture material in the same location. You can pay for the Workbook at the LBCC Bookstore, bring your receipt to class and I'll give you the book.
The class will start with a short overview of the Macintosh platform, then we spend several weeks on Lightroom and end with Photoshop.
Some of you may be already be proficient in Photoshop - so I have designed an Advanced Workbook to meet those needs. We can discuss which will be suitable for you at our first class meeting.
